Generate your own Network Marketing leads

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Of all the skills needed to build a successful Network Marketing or MLM business, lead generation is certainly one of the most important.  A constant supply of fresh, targeted, qualified leads ensures the growth needed to create momentum.  Sure, you can buy leads and lists but the quality of bought leads is often questionable, and the price is inevitably higher than generating your own.  The other problem with bought leads is lack of duplication.  Most people join a Network Marketing business with the intention of earning a second income quickly.  If the first thing you tell your new distributor, after they have invested a startup fee and joined your team, is that they now need to shell out more money each month for leads you’re likely to alienate many of them. In reality however, this really isn’t necessary since lead generation, if properly taught, is both simple and cost effective which means it’s easy to duplicate.

There are many different ways to generate leads and over the next few posts I’ll discuss some of my personal favorites, some simple classic ways of advertising, and some newer techniques which you might not have come across before.  The key is to try each technique and find what works well for you.  Apply the 80/20 principle and concentrate on those methods which work best for you.  In general you’ll need money and/or time to generate your own leads and depending on which of those currencies you have the most of some of these methods will be more suited to your business.  As a quick example, advertising in newspapers is very quick and easy, but costs money.  Using online forums or conducting street surveys is virtually free but will take a considerable about of time and effort.

In the end it’s usually best to use a mixture of methods, multiple baited rods will catch different types of fish, and you don’t want to limit your business growth to specific demographics.  Additionally, you will have people join your team from all backgrounds and situations.  Some will like the same methods as you, but others will have entirely different circumstances.  As such as a good leader you need to be familiar and comfortable with every method so you can teach the most effective methods to your downline.

Christmas Debt, and the Kleeneze solution

Sunday, November 4th, 2007

I read some interesting figures today.  According to a recent poll, 45% of the UK population will struggle to stick to a budget and avoid debt this christmas.  Here’s a quick little quiz to see how shopping-savvy you are, and how likely you are to overspend! (Answers below)

  1. We spend on average £863 per household but how much of that is spent on presents?
    a) £256
    b) £378
    c) £620
  2. How much more does the average family spend in December that in any other month of the year?
    a) 25%
    b) 50%
    c) 100%
  3. How much did consumers in the UK spend on Christmas presents online last year?
    a) £95 million
    b) £3.2 billion
    c) £7.5 billion
  4. On average, how long do UK consumers take to pay off their Christmas debts?
    a) Six weeks
    b) Three months
    c) Six months

Answers

1. (b) £378 - plus £163 on food and drink, £53 on paper and cards, £64 on a tree and decorations, £84 on travel and £121 on socialising

2. (c) The average family spends 100% more in December than in any other month.

3. (c) £7.5 billion (£7,500,000,000) was spent on Christmas presents online last year in the UK!

4. (b) It takes the average family 3 months to pay off their Christmas debts.  That’s one quarter of the year paying off debts for a single celebration, only to start preparing for the next one 6 months down the line!

These figures came from a woman’s magazine that Cressy was reading and their solution to the problem was to budget carefully, be frugal and reduce spending.  All well and good but not so easy to do when you’re already stretching a budget and the kids are being bombarded with advertising for the latest games machine!

We have a different solution. A Kleeneze business run in spare time around a job and family commitments can easily bring in an extra £3000 per year, even without team building.  That would cover Christmas, AND leave over £2000 for a good holiday or other luxuries!  Why not read our Kleeneze home business information pack and see if this business could help you to have the bext Christmas ever!

Kleeneze - a step up the property ladder

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

It’s no news that house prices in the UK have risen dramatically in recent years.  Although recent news stories report a slow down, and even a risk of a fall in the house market, there are more and more struggling first time buyers.  According to the BBC, the average house price in the UK is now well over £200,00 (£210,578), an increase of 9.25% in the last year.  The most expensive areas of the country, such as Windsor and Maidenhead are almost double that at nearly £400,000 for an average priced house.

Since wages have not risen at anywhere near these levels, it has become harder and harder for first time buyers to get on the property ladder.  Coupled with the current fear over the pension crises, and general job insecurity, the idea of a second income, or self employment is becoming more and more attractive,

Can a Kleeneze income really make a big difference?

How much does the average household have to spend?  The average household income in the UK is £648 per week.  A typical expenditure weighs in at £485.50 covers rent, council tax, household bills, car running costs, clothing, food etc. leaving £162.50 for ‘lifestyle’ (holidays, Christmas, birthday presents, evenings out etc.)  As this is an average including London and the Southeast you can appreciate that in many areas this figure would be considerably lower.  Even with this figure, a part time Kleeneze income of just £600 would double the amount of money a family could spend on lifestyle.

Kleeneze incomes are not all about big bucks, fast cars and luxury holidays.  Of course these things are all available but not everyone wants to run a Kleeneze business full time, or build a long term business.  The lower incomes however, £400, £600, even £1000 per month are available on a part time basis around a full time job or business.  Would an extra £600 per month make it a little easier for the average couple looking for a starter home? - I think so!

When you’re talking to prospects it’s easy to get over excited and tell them all of the massive success stories from yourself, your team and other’s in the business.  Don’t forget though that the smaller incomes are what will attract most people to the business.  Once people have had some success they may choose to upgrade their aspirations and aim of bigger things but most people joining a Network Marketing business join for an extra £50 - £100 per week.  We can show them how to do that in their first month so beware of putting them off with the bigger numbers… Kleeneze can deliver a millionaire lifestyle, but the change in lifestyle from a little extra cash in the early months can be just as rewarding, especially if it allows people to purcahse their own home and start to realise their dreams.

UK debt judgments at 10-year high

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

The number of County Court Judgments (CCJs) against consumer debtors has reached its highest level in almost 10 years, figures show. According to a report published by the BBC, nearly 250,000 CCJs (the highest figure since 1997) were issued in England and Wales in the first three months of 2007 - up 9.5% on the same period a year ago.  Lenders are using the courts more and more, according to the Registry Trust, and householders are struggling financially.  Around 70% of the CCJs issued were related to credit.

That is an interesting point.  In the UK, we seem happier to borrow money than to earn it.  It has become so easy in the current economic climate to take out a loan, get a credit card or purchase on HP.  You can’t have failed to notice that every other television advert is for debt consolidation, credit cards and loans.  In the past 24 hours I’ve had 2 cold calls from call centres offering financial services, and the postman regularly delivers junk mail offering the same.

While loans and credit do have their place, the problem is that the debt can quickly build to a point where it becomes unmanageable.  Many people see another loan, or another card as a solution to their money problems, when in fact it can only add to it.

What does all this mean to us?  Well, we have a solution in the form of a simple to run, low cost, high profit home based business.  The Kleeneze opportunity allows anyone, from any background and with no special skills, to increase their income dramatically from the very first week.  With so many people in need of financial help, make sure that you and your teams are taking advantage of the situation and promoting your businesses.  Thousands of people will join Kleeneze as a means of escaping from their financial problems - make sure they join YOUR team!

House prices and disposable incomes

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Following on from yesterday’s budget post, I wanted to talk about house prices in the UK.  The house I grew up in cost my father £6000 back in the 1970s.  That same house is now worth nearly £200,000.  While house prices have soared up in recent years, the average income has struggled to keep up.

According to current statistics the average house price in the UK is now £184,924.  The average house in many areas of the UK such as Cornwall, Devon, Kent, and Wiltshire is well above the £200,000 mark and in 11 counties it is now over £250,000.  The average flat in London is over £275,000!

It really is getting harder and harder for first time buyers to get on the housing market.  With the average wage in the UK currently £447 per week so an extra income of £200 - £500 per month from a Kleeneze business makes a huge difference to many households.  From the average income people have to pay rent, council tax, insurance, fuel and travel costs, water rates, phonebills, food, heating… the list goes on.  What is left is typically less than £200 per month ‘disposable income’ or ‘lifestyle money’.  What a Kleeneze, or Network Marketing business can do is double the average person’s lifestyle money instantly.  Yes, big residual incomes are available in this business, but never underestimate the power of an extra couple of hundred pounds a month for many people.

Kleeneze : A get rich quick scheme?

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Often when explaining Kleeneze, or Network Marketing in general, I’m asked, “So is that a get rich quick scheme?” The answer I normally give is no, since I believe that term to have many negative connotations, and would lead people to believe that you can make money in this business without putting in considerable effort for a sustained period of time.

Yesterday however, I heard some figures which made me realise that yes, this really is a “Get rich quick” business when compared with the alternatives. Here are some simple facts about rich people (in general):

  1. They are hard working, productive people.
  2. They work an average of 59 - 80 hours per week.
  3. They take 20 years to reach financial independence.

Yet many people join Kleeneze and quit after 3 weeks because they haven’t made it big!  In Kleeneze, financial independence normally takes around 3 - 5 years.  The quickest anyone got to Senior Executive before was 18 months!  Even if you build the business REALLY slowly, and take 15 years to reach that level, to earn a passive income of £3,500 per month even when they take the month off, that’s not bad now is it?

They key to this business is to learn all you can, follow your upline’s proven system, be professional and committed, and give it time.  Anyone who does these simple things can’t fail but to succeed.  If only everyone realised that they could do it, that if they had the patience this business could deliver everything they hoped for, what a thing that would be.  Unfortunately not everyone will.  Our job is to lend them our vision, help them to see the path to their future success, and in so doing, ensure the success of ourselves and our teams.

Opportunity video online

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Kleeneze have kindly put the new presentation video online and allowed distributors to link to it from their websites. This gives us such a great opportunity to get prospects interested and onboard fast. You can grab the video link from the distributor support arena on the Kleeneze site, and link it in from your own website very easily. Why not add it to your email signatures too - the more people who see it, the more will join your team. We added the video to this site at www.earn-ez.com/video.html

Online Classified advertising

Monday, February 19th, 2007

As a networker, you’ll already be familiar with classified adverts.  Found in the back of almost every local newspaper, classifieds are typically small lineage adverts.  Usually for a small free, a classified advert in a local or national paper can produce some good leads.  Online classifieds are just the same; small low cost or free adverts, but on a website rather than in a newspaper.  The big advantage here of course is that you are likely to be targeting a much wider readership.
The other big advantage that online classifieds have over traditional paper based adverts is speed of response.  Since your online classified advert can have a link to your website (or at least an email address) the prospect can end up receiving details about your opportunity, and potentially signing up within minutes rather than days.

Get the most from classified adverts

  1. Keep track - If you’re placing adverts in newspapers you will probably only place one or two each week.  Online you could be placing ten or twenty each day, so keeping records will help.  Keep a list of what sites you’re using and the dates that the adverts end.  It’s then very simple to renew the adverts at the right time and make sure you’re constantly advertising.
  2. Be creative - 99% of the Kleeneze and Network Marketing adverts I see are in the business opportunity section.  Guess what - you’re only attracting people who are actively looking for a business!  Why not try the car section, or the house section - “Would an extra £100 per week allow you to buy the car of your dreams?”
  3. Experiment - Try different advert styles on lots of different sites.  Some will be free, some may charge, but all will generate leads at some level.  Once you find sites and styles of advert that work just keep doing more of the same.
  4. Search for different sites - You wouldn’t tell everyone in your downline which street to flyer, or they would all be going to the same place.  You want to spread your adverts far and wide so find the sites which everyone else ignores.  Try searching for “classifieds” or “free adverts” on some of the less well known search engines and get your teams to do the same, you’ll be surprised just how many advertising opportunities there are out there.

To help you get started, here’s a lift of search engines to try:

  • Google variations (.com, .co.uk, .de etc.)
  • yahoo.com
  • search.aol.com
  • Ask.com
  • Hotbot.com
  • alltheweb.com

Fast Forward - Viral email marketing

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

Every Network Marketer’s favorite part of an email program is the forward button. How many times have you received an email from a friend with a joke, a funny picture, or maybe a news story and thought “Wow that’s great, I think Bob/Sue/Sam etc. would like that too…â€? and hit the forward button?

What I have just described is a viral email. No, not the nasty computer viruses that you hear about on the news, but an email that propagates in viral form. Any email which is funny, or interesting enough to be forwarded is a potential viral. Here’s the great part, when you send an email like this you have your signature advert on the bottom!

Now let’s say you send a joke email, with your signature advert, to just 5 friends. If they think it’s good enough do you think thay may forward it on to 5 of their friends… and they might forward it on to at least 5 of their friends? Hey, you’re a networker, i don’t need to explain the power of numbers to you.

Every time one of those recipients reads your joke, they see your advert too. From a single joke you send, you could be reaching hundreds or thousands of people.  It’s also a really great, non-threatening way of letting your warm market know about your Kleeneze business… So what are you waiting for?  Get emailing!
