Edward Ludbrook’s 100% Success Coaching

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Ed Ludbrook 100% Success CoachYesterday I attended Edward Ludbrook’s only UK date this year for his fantastic 100% coaching system.  The day was based around training us as 100% Success Coaches who can now implement the strategies which Ed has developed to increase retention and performance in many organisations around the world.

The 100% Success system is based on coaching key skills to a level of competence which inspires confidence in new distributors.  The workshop was a massive success with every attendee leaving with a wealth of knowledge and skills, and a confidence in coaching their teams.

I know that the system is going to have a dramatic impct on our business, and the successes of our future team members, and I can highly recommned the workshop to anyone serious about developing their business.

During the workshop we were introduced to Cecilia, a top leader in Scandinavia with FLP.  She has been using Edward’s system for the past year and has seen dramatic results, as have many others in businesses around the world.

As a certified 100% Success Coach, I am personally looking forward to implementing this strategy within Team Eclipse and taking this business to the next level - thanks Ed!

How you get paid as a Network Marketer.

Friday, April 4th, 2008

There’s nothing complicated about how a Network Marketing business works, but many people get confused by the idea.  With any Network Marketing business, you get paid for moving product (i.e. when a customer places an order) either with yourself, or with one of your team.  Here’s an example of how you can build a residual income with the Kleeneze opportunity:

Network Marketing residual incomeStage 1

If you deliver and collect back 250 catalogues per week, on average 1 in 10 catalogues will give you a £10 order, that’s £250 in orders a week, £1000 over a Kleeneze 4 week period, and earn £274 (£211 retail profit and £64 volume profit). It makes sense to grow your business by retailing and sponsoring (introducing other people).

Stage 2

If over a period of time your were to introduce 10 other people who did the same, that would earn you approximately £1,260. This means you are at GOLD DISTRIBUTOR STATUS.

Stage 3

Simply show 5 of your distributors how to do stage 2 and do stage 2 again yourself.
This means you are at SENIOR EXECUTIVE DISTRIBUTOR STATUS.
THIS IS AN ESTIMATED ANNUAL INCOME OF OTE £50,000
(Based on average earnings)

Building a team is not essential with Kleeneze, and many people earn very good incomes from personal retail alone (the top earner purely from placing catalogues last year earned over £35,000) but it’s the only way to build a residual income that keeps paying you on months when you don’t work, when you’re ill, on holiday or even after you retire!  Next time we’ll look at how to build to Gold Distributor and why you won’t have to do all the work yourself!

10 Secrets to Success in Network Marketing

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007
  1. There are no secrets

It might sound like a cop out just to fill out this list but this point is key, there really are no secrets to succeeding with Kleeneze or any other Network Marketing business. All of the knowledge that you need in order to build a profitable business are freely available. Whether in books, at meetings, or from your sponsor, everything you need to know is there for you – you just need to know where to look and who to ask.

It continues to amaze me how, in this business, people are willing to help each other. You wouldn’t go to a Microsoft conference and expect to see an executive from Apple or Novell giving a talk. In Kleeneze however, cross network training is commonplace with the sentiment that ‘what is good for Kleeneze is good for the network’. This mindset fosters a real sense of camaraderie and team spirit which helps to drive the business forward. Information is freely available and so next time you want to know something just ask. Whether upline or crossline someone with more experience than yourself will be happy to give you the answers.

The other side to the ‘no secret’ tips is that this is a simple business. Follow the system, word hard and have patience and you will succeed. There is no ’secret’ to success here, just a set of practices that if followed well will lead you to developing a successful and profitable network.

  1. Never quit

I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve seen quit this business, only to watch one of their team go on to build a successful business. There are Kleeneze distributors from all walks of life, from shipyard workers to teachers, prison officers to accountants, but the one thing all successful distributors have in common is that they didn’t quit!

Every business has its ups and downs. From chips shops to FTSE 500s every business, without fail, will have good days and bad days, times of growth and times of recession, massive successes and minor setbacks. The key, in the words of Richard Carlson is, “Don’t sweat the small stuffâ€?. If you’re having a bad day, don’t let that turn into a bad week. If you’re having a bad week do something about it before it turns into a bad month.

Remember that whatever obstacle you come up against, other people will have faced it, and overcome it before. Quitting can sometimes look like an attractive option, and I’d be willing to bet that every successful distributor has thought about it more than once, but the surest way to fail is to quit when the going gets tough. Remember – tough times don’t last, tough people do!

  1. Some will, some won’t, so what… Next!

Not everyone will want to join your team. Not everyone will want to change their life, increase their lifestyle and build a business. This however does not reflect on you. Your job as a networker is to promote the business, expose people to the opportunity, offer information and advice, and to train and coach those who are interested. If someone says no they are not saying no to you, they are saying that for them, at this moment in time they don’t believe that your opportunity is suitable. Again, remember that the top earners in the business are where they are because more people have said no to them than to you! So ‘fail your way to the top’ and start getting some rejections, because each no takes you closer to your next yes!

  1. Up the activity

If you place more catalogues, you will get more orders. If you do more advertising you will get more leads, if you talk to more people you will get more people to join Kleeneze.

If you place a certain number of catalogue you will get so many orders. It almost goes without saying that if you place ten times as many catalogues you will get ten times the orders. The same goes with sponsoring activity. Whatever level you are doing, you can always do more. If you want things to be moving faster, if you want a bigger team and a bigger bonus then simply do more and up the activity.

  1. A higher bonus level means a higher income

By now I’m sure you’re realising that this is a simple business with simple answers. If more catalogues gets you more order, and more activity gets you more leads, a higher bonus level gets you more money.

To get a higher bonus level you need to increase your turnover. You do that by doing more retail (place more catalogues) or by sponsoring more people (up the activity). As your bonus level increases your income will increase with it and at the same time your story will improve. Success attracts success and as your income and bonus level increase you will find it increasingly easy to attract people to your business. The only thing from stopping you generating that momentum is you – just make a decision to start today and get going!

  1. The right attitude

Attitude is everything, right? Well maybe not quite, but the wrong attitude will certainly compromise your chances of success. When I first started in Network Marketing I sponsored both of my sisters into my business. Both had the same background, both had a good work ethic, both obviously had the same trainer and coach in myself. However, one went on to build a large organisation and the other quit after just a few weeks. The reason – attitude. The sister who did well was always positive, when she came across an obstacle she worked out how to overcome it and she was always asking questions and willing to learn. The sister who quit was negative from day one. She told me she didn’t think the business would work and that she would prove me wrong. She wouldn’t listen and made a big deal of every little setback.

Having the right attitude really can make the difference between success and failure. The other lesson to learn here is that people WILL quit, and when they do it’s not your fault. I gave the same help and support to both sisters and yet one chose to follow my leadership and succeed while the other did not. Remember that when someone quits your team, it’s their decision and it doesn’t reflect on you.

  1. It’s OK to make some mistakes

Mistakes are a natural part of the learning process. If you never made a mistake you could never improve. If you never pushed beyond your boundaries you could never grow. Making a mistake is fine, so long as you learn from it, and so long as you don’t make the same mistake time and time again.

Even better than learning from your own mistakes is to learn from other’s mistakes. Learn other people’s success stories, and also where they tripped up. Share stories with your upline, downline and crossline at meetings, conferences, via email and voicemail, whenever you get the chance. If there is a wrong way to do something, chances are that someone else has tried it. Remember, there are no secrets to this business, so always be learning, but don’t be afraid to push your limits. Minor setbacks only pave the way for future success!

  1. Provide proof

One of the biggest advantages Kleeneze has over other networks is our amazing catalogue and the ability to create income immediately, through personal retail. Anyone, even around a full time job, can earn £300 - £500 in their very first month in Kleeneze through personal retail. That creates a strong story which makes you very attractive to prospects. If you can show your income and say, “I earned £500 in my first month, part time, are you interested? very few people would turn down the opportunity of at least taking a look at what you have to offer.

The great thing is, no matter how long you have been with Kleeneze, you can create a new retail story today! Just work out a retail plan with your sponsor, set yourself a target and go for it. There are many people earning over £3000 per month just from personal retail, but a second income of just a few hundred is plenty to prove to yourself and your prospects that the business works and start building a team.

  1. Earn more than your sponsor

It’s a common misconception that in order to make good money in Network marketing you need to get ‘in at the start’ of an opportunity. Those in the business know this is not the case. Kleeneze became a networking company in the 1970s and the current top earner joined in 1993. Many of the public however still regard Network Marketing as a similar concept to the old pyramid schemes of 20 years ago. The quickest and surest way of proving the opposite is to go out and earn more than the person who sponsored you.

I earned more in my first month in the business than my sponsor, and have people in my team who earn more than me. The business pays on effort and performance which is great… put in the effort to produce results and you get the rewards.

  1. Talk to everybody

This is a networking business after all, and that means essentially you are paid to promote the business to other people. Whether face to face, on the phone, by email, voicemail, SMS… the more people you tell about the business the more money you will make. This isn’t rocket science, but unfortunately too many people complicate the matter. Keep it simple, follow your successful upline’s system, be persistent and consistent and talk to as many people as you can and you will enjoy massive success with your Kleeneze business.

5 year plan

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

The Olympic games come to London in 2012.  For the next 5 years top athletes from around the world have one goal in mind - their sights are firmly set on an Olympic medal.  What is your goal for the next 5 years?  Are you going for gold, or just ’seeing how it goes’?

It’s a simple fact that most people do not have clearly defined long term goals for their business, and that this is a major stumbling block.  A business with no goal is like an Olympic archer with no target to aim for.

Kriss Akabusi won three Summer Olympic medals, three World Championship medals, broke the British record for sprinting, and received an MBE.  Did he do that by chance?  Of course not, he had clearly defined goals,  a very specific plan and with the help of his coach he kept on focus.

To have similar success in your business spend the time to clearly define your goals - long and short term.  Work out a clear plan of action to achieve them and sit done with your sponsor, or mentor and allow them to help you stay focused.  You’ll be amazed how much easier those early mornings or late nights are when you have a strong WHY - a strong enough goal to strive towards.   Whether you have a Kleeneze business, or another vehicle to achieve your financial aspirations, clearly defined goals are an essential tool to get the most out of your business and yourself!

Ten tips to get off to a flying start with your Kleeneze business

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Here are some great tips, straight from the horses mouth, to get new distributors up and running fast.  When new distributors join Kleeneze, these are some of the fundamental steps to ensure their success:

  1. Watch the Kleeneze Retailing The Basics DVD. Make a realistic retail plan with your Upline. Aim to qualify for the new starter incentives and commit to it.
  2. Put your catalogues out immediately + Collect them within 2 days. (Clearly label your catalogues) Ask your Upline to advise you about “Your Wetbook & how to help minimize catalogue losses
  3. Set up your catalogues the same way each time. You can then tell when they have been looked at by the customer
  4. Find out what income is available, understand the earnings plan and how you can earn what you need to hit the earnings level you set when you joined
  5. Make a list of everyone you know and send them an information pack – Your upline will advise you how to do this. Give them a call the next day and ask if they know if anyone would be interested.
  6. Advertise for people to join your team - Put recruitment flyers in your catalogues; put opportunity flyers through letterboxes; put business cards on cars / shop counters; put an ˜Income Opportunity advert in your local paper
  7. Stay in regular contact with your Sponsor for guidance and support
  8. Join the MLM Voice mail messaging system to help you manage your business Click to MLM
  9. Checkout when the next Team Sizzle or Opportunity Meeting is due to be held and arrange to be there, ask your sponsor. Also know when the next company conference is at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham You are entitled to a FREE ticket.
  10. Never keep a question you don’t know the answer to, to yourself. Always ask!

An extra £200 per month…

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

The average wage in the UK is £447 per week (Source: www.statistics.gov.uk).  Now part of that income will go towards rent/mortage, council tax, gas, electric, water, home and mobile phone, Internet, TV license, fuel and car maintenance and a whole host of other necessities.  A further slice goes on food, drink, clothing, cosmetics, household essentials etc. Then there are children’s clothes and other costs to think about, not to mention pet food and vets fees…

The point is this - what percentage of the average monthly income goes on these necessities?  For many people it will actually be around 110% meaning they go more into the red each month.  For those who do manage to stick to their budget, rather than living in sin with their flexible friends, the amount left over each month for luxuries (going out, holidays, savings etc.) is not likely to be more than £200.

£200 lifestyle money - that’s about all most people have (if they’re lucky!) and yet we can show people how to earn an extra £200 - £400 per month in just a few hours each week.  By giving up Coronation Street for a couple of evenings each week, the average person can double their spending money, and over time that £200 can grow to £2000 and beyond if they so wish.

We have an amazing opportunity to offer people.  A way of truly changing people’s lives and lifestyles, but they will only find out about it if we do our job properly, promote our business opportunity and give people the information they need to make an informed decision - so go and change someone’s life today!

Making the most of our time

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

When giving a talk on time management this week, I put up a slide depicting many successful people and asked the question, “What do these people have in common?” They were men and women of varying ages, from all backgrounds and living in different cities. They were all successful to differing degrees. The answer I was looking for was that they, like each of us, have the same 24 hours each day in which to ‘get the job done’. Each of them, in order to achieve the successes they have enjoyed, have found a way of making the most of those 24 hours.

Jim Rohn explains it well: Suppose you had a bank account, into which $1440 was placed every night. You are free to spend that money in any way you choose, but at the stoke of midnight the balance is cleared. Any money you didn’t spend is lost forever, but a brand new $1440 is deposited before you awake next morning.

The money, of course, is a metaphor for the 1440 minutes of time we have each day. However, in real life we can always earn more money, but when time is spent it is gone forever.

Time management is a poor label for essentially being efficient and productive. We cannot manage time any more than we can manage the weather. However, what we can manage is ourselves and the tasks we perform, just as we can choose to wear a coat when it rains!

A major part of my talk dealt with procrastination: what it is, and how to avoid it. I’ve discovered a number of techniques to help avoid procrastination, be more efficient and productive and essentially make the most out of the time we each have. Tomorrow I’ll share those techniques.

Kleeneze Gold Training Days

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Kleeneze have changed the criteria for the Gold training days so that now any Gold or above distributor can attend any training day, no matter when then hit that level.  The next scheduled day is 12th April and if you’ve not yet attended one I strongly suggest you book a place.

We went to a Gold training day last year and it was fantastic.  It really gives added belief that this is the right business when you see how efficiently the warehouse, offices and contact centre are run.  You get a guided tour and see exactly how the picking process works, how the call centre is set up and what departments dop what.  You’ll get to ask loads of questions and you’ll also get some great training from a guest Senior Executive Distributor.  Do yourself a favour and book a place at a training that will help you take your Kleeneze business to the next level.

Follow-up = Fortune

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

When a prospect responds to an advert offering our simple home based business, we send an information pack (by email or post) and follow up with a telephone call.  That call is possibly the single most important stage of the entire sponsoring process - it’s what makes the difference between a prospect who is just looking for a work from home business, and a new distributor in your team.

Follow-up calls can be grouped into three main categories:

  1. Introduction
  2. Information
  3. Invitation

Introduction - this will be the first call you make to a prospect, ideally within 24 - 48 hours of getting the lead.  Simply introduce yourself and ask whether they have received the information and whether they understand it.

Information - This is when you discuss the business and offer answers to any objections they may have.  Try to focus on them, what they want, and how the business can solve their problems (extra income, time freedom etc.)

Invitation - Close the deal!  This is just asking them if they would like to get started.  It’s amazing how many people fall down at this final hurdle.  If you don’t ask them, the chances are they will not join.
